HomeGround's history occupied with the most disadvantaged and secluded members of our community goes back more than 20 years. George Street Outreach Services was established in 1990 based in Melbourne's inner north. These organizations were created through partnerships between key agencies who had identified gaps in the homelessness and housing system for people with complex needs and lengthy histories of homelessness. Argyle Street Housing Service was established in 1997 to aid homeless people in Melbourne’s inner south and, from 2002, in the City of Yarra. The merger joined two organizations with normal values centered around tall quality services, a rights based approach and a mighty commitment to social change. The vision for HomeGround was to create an organization with integrated tall quality housing focused services offering crisis and transitional assistance and outreach promote across the complete internal urban region. Today, HomeGround has evolved further and works to hinder homelessness, end homelessness, create access to housing, advocate for change and thrive evidence about effective responses to homelessness. We want to take feedback on our services and organization.
