Client means the party with whom the Surveyor contracts to produce the Services. Services means and includes the total of the services provided by the surveyor including but not limited to conducting surveys of container, general, fracture bulk, bulk and liquid cargoes and of vessels’ hulls, machinery and droughts. Subcontractor includes any other person who pursuant to a contract or arrangement with any other person (whether or not the Surveyor) provides or agrees to provide the Services or any segment of the Services. (1) The client expressly warrants that it has the authority to request the Surveyor to bear the Services. (2) Where the Client is acting as an agent in requesting the provision of the Services, the client agrees to be likely jointly and severally with its principal for all amounts payable to the Surveyor pursuant to this Contract. (3) The Client authorizes the Surveyor to receive all steps that in the opinion of the Surveyor are necessary in order to yield the Services. (4) The parties concur that where the Surveyor is required to yield the Services in circumstances other than those which normally occur in the provision of the Services or where there is a variation in the Services which have been requested to be provided, the Surveyor shall be entitled to the payment of surplus amounts which are to be agreed between the parties immediately those circumstances or changes in the Services become obvious to the Surveyor. Without prejudice to the foregoing and for the purpose of this Clause the Surveyor is or shall be deemed to be acting as agent or trustee on behalf of and for the profit of all such persons and each of them and all such persons and each of them shall be the extent be or be deemed to be parties to this Contract. Was formed in 1998 in order to maintain this proud name in the Maritime Industry. As a privately owned marine surveying company based in the Port of Melbourne, it aims to provide a detailed, personalized and quality service to the commercial shipping industry. Exceptional areas of interest include vehicle transport, reshipment inspections, securing of project cargoes (on flat racks and on board), container and vessel inspections, including damage, spillage, contamination and shortages, for ship owners, charterers, cargo interests and insurance companies. Captain Bowman became a Surveyor after 12 years seagoing experience on general cargo vessels. He joined George Jim in 1976 and has been the firm's manager since 1979. His expertise lies in general cargo damages, reshipment inspections, marine casualty and insurance work. During his 40 years as Surveyor he has worked on several major marine disasters, on a expansive variety of import and export cargoes, both containerized and in bulk. In the majority of these cases he has been representing the interests of the Shipping Lines, but can equally be relied on to represent Cargo Interests or their Underwriters. For large volume labor we can access a network of company trained casual staff, including Master Mariners, with apropos experience and integrity to provide ongoing tall quality service to our clients. Through alliances with other reputable surveying companies we can yield services around Australia. Our charges recognize the time, glossy of expertise required, traveling involved and any technical procedures that may be required. Quotes and fees are subject to variation relating to after hours or public holiday labor and include drifting time and local, national and international telephone and other communication charges. Work is billed at the completion of each project. Provide and maintain healthy and safe work areas in our premises and to properly maintain equipment. Review labor methods and equipment in search of improvements, in the belief that injuries and occupational illness can be prevented. Ensure that all our staff is conversant with all suitable health, safety and environmental information available.
